Where the money goes
We are a small association with no paid staff. Donations go into the projects described on this site: the eco-farm and the electrification of the boats. The most urgent needs right now are the electric motor for the first boat and an automatic irrigation system for the fields.
What a donation achieves
- €2,650
- An electric motor and battery for one boat. The first belongs to the lagoon’s 45 women oyster and shellfish gatherers.
- €1,350
- A second, swappable battery and an improved solar charging station, so the boat can run while the other battery charges.
- €3,500
- Every further boat, once there are charging stations on both banks.

The account is a dedicated account in the name of the chair, because it costs the association nothing. It is used exclusively for the association, accounted for through the association’s books and submitted to the tax office every year with the corporate tax return, when non-profit status is also reviewed.
As a supporting member
Supporting membership is the more reliable way to help: it lets us plan beyond a single year. The minimum contribution is €50 a year; for pupils, students, trainees and anyone for whom that is too much, it is €30, at your own discretion.

Donation receipts
The association is recognised as a non-profit by the Krefeld tax office and is entitled to issue donation receipts. If you pay tax in Germany, donations to non-profit associations are tax-deductible.
Donations are not only urgently welcome, they are also in good hands, because members of our association spend long periods on site regularly, in close contact with the people involved and well connected with important local institutions and NGOs.
